With the completion of Phase 1 of the Metro Silver Line project pending, construction on Phase 2 has been given the “green light” to proceed. Fairfax News reports that the first five stations of the project are in the end stages of construction, giving Metro passengers an easier commute through the Tyson’s Corner area, as well as into Reston. The next phase will connect Reston to Dulles International Airport, and continue into Ashburn. The Metro Silver Line project will help alleviate travel and commuting concerns throughout Northern Virginia, as well as help stimulate new business and residential real estate options. The buzz around town is that a new Wegmans may be joining the multi-use development surrounding the McLean Metro Station. According to the Washington Post, discussions involving Wegmans and Cityline Partners have occurred regarding the project, as well as how to add residential units above the store. This project could add hundreds more apartments in Tyson’s Corner, with fast access to the Metro Silver Line. This residential real estate in Tyson’s Corner will continue to provide Northern Virginia with more choices for DC commuters and families.
