Silver Line Parking Solution in Tyson’s?

garage With four Metro Silver Line stations scattered throughout Tyson’s Corner, concerns over parking and the idea of a “walkable city” could be solved with a new parking lot idea. According to Fairfax Patch, CityLine Partners has proposed building a new parking facility close to the McLean Silver Line station, allowing a more convenient, and temporary solution for Metro riders in the Tyson’s area. This parking solution could be the best of all worlds while Metro puts more buses and routes into place for residents living in the Northern Virginia area. Silver Line is Better Safe than Sorry

As the proposed completion date looms ahead, Phase 1 of the Metro Silver Line project has been forced to delay the launch date due to safety and performance testing. WAMU reports that the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has confirmed that this testing is necessary and will push back the opening of the Metro Silver Line by about eight weeks. While the remaining steps are finished in order to start Silver Line Service to businesses and homes in Tyson’s Corner and throughout Northern Virginia, the next phase of the project has been given the “go ahead” to begin. Getting Ready for Phase Two

silver line phase 1With the completion of Phase 1 of the Metro Silver Line project pending, construction on Phase 2 has been given the “green light” to proceed. Fairfax News reports that the first five stations of the project are in the end stages of construction, giving Metro passengers an easier commute through the Tyson’s Corner area, as well as into Reston. The next phase will connect Reston to Dulles International Airport, and continue into Ashburn. The Metro Silver Line project will help alleviate travel and commuting concerns throughout Northern Virginia, as well as help stimulate new business and residential real estate options.
